A Rainy Day

Finally, finally! We have been getting some rain.
The last week has disappointed, actually, with highs of 112 F and humidity, but no rain. We must have slackened on our rain dances.
However, before that were our first monsoons. I was pleased to go outside and take pictures during the sunset. Every now and then I'm able to evoke the quality of our camera in my photos (that is to say there must be someone else behind that lens) - this was one of those times. Which is good, because it shows me that I'm not stuck in a sea of fuzzy pics forever - with the help of a nice little camera, I can get better!

I buzzed around our front yard, trying to capture this vague concept of "rain."

The water filled the canals between trees in our yard. I wanted to show the drops, but apparently you can't do this very well when there are few ripples.

These are a cute family of aloes growing under the mesquite tree. I'm sure they enjoyed the bath.

Wet leaves: I really like these.

What a pretty city sky.
